Pontus Nyholm was born in Gävle, Sweden, and emerged as one of Europe’s top amateur golfers before turning professional. While attending Campbell University, Nyholm represented Sweden on the national team and climbed into the top 50 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking, establishing himself as a consistent international competitor with a strong all-around game.
Turning professional shortly after college, Nyholm made an immediate impact by advancing through Qualifying School to earn status on the Korn Ferry Tour. Over four seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour, he demonstrated exceptional consistency, never losing his playing privileges and steadily progressing toward the next level.
Nyholm earned his PGA TOUR card for the 2025 season following a breakthrough victory at the Visit Knoxville Open, a defining win that capped his rise through the professional ranks. He is currently competing as a rookie on the PGA TOUR, representing Sweden at the highest level of men’s professional golf.
